Terms of Use
Last updated 23 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Zaga, the operator of Dukuduku. They apply to the Android app, the web app at app.dukuduku.co.tz and this website. By using Dukuduku you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who can use Dukuduku
You must be at least 18 years old. You must not use Dukuduku if you have been removed from it before, or if the law where you live does not allow you to.
2. What Dukuduku is
A place to say what is on your mind, mostly by voice, with your name or without it, and to listen, react and reply to others. Posts are reviewed before they appear in the public feed. We may decline to publish, or later remove, anything that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines.
3. Your account
You can use Dukuduku without signing in. If you sign in, you are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to it to yourself. Tell us at hello@dukuduku.co.tz if you think someone else is using it.
4. Your content
You own what you post. By posting, you give Zaga a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transcribe, moderate, caption and display it inside Dukuduku, and to make it available for other users to listen to and share, including as a video. This licence ends when you delete the post, except for copies other users have already shared outside the app and records we must keep by law.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not include anyone else's recording, music or voice without their permission.
5. Rules
The Community Guidelines are part of these terms. In short, you must not post anything that:
- names, exposes or targets a real person, including their phone number, address or workplace;
- threatens, harasses or bullies anyone, or promotes hatred;
- sexualises or endangers a child in any way;
- encourages self-harm, suicide, or violence;
- is illegal in Tanzania, or infringes someone else's rights;
- is advertising, spam, a scam, or impersonates someone else.
You must not try to identify anonymous users, interfere with the service, get around a suspension, or use bots or scripts to post, react or collect data.
6. Reporting and enforcement
You can report any post or comment from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or permanently remove accounts and devices that break these terms. For serious harm, in particular anything involving a child, we act immediately and may report to the authorities; see our Child Safety Standards. If you think we removed something by mistake, email hello@dukuduku.co.tz and we will look again.
7. Tokens and payments
Some features, such as longer voice replies or commenting without your name, use tokens. You can buy token packages in the app with mobile money or a card, or earn some by watching optional ads.
- Prices are shown in the app before you pay, including any taxes.
- Tokens are a licence to use features in Dukuduku. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- If you were charged but did not receive your tokens, or were charged twice, email hello@dukuduku.co.tz with the payment reference. We will check it with the payment provider and credit or refund you where the charge was our error.
- Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under the law of Tanzania.
8. Ads
Dukuduku may show ads. Ads are provided by third parties and we are not responsible for what they advertise.
9. Leaving Dukuduku
You can stop using Dukuduku at any time and delete your account; see how to delete your account. Unused tokens are lost when an account is deleted. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or stop offering the service with reasonable notice in the app.
10. The service is provided as it is
We work to keep Dukuduku available and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that every harmful post will be caught before someone hears it. Other users' posts are their own views, not ours. To the extent the law allows, Zaga is not liable for indirect losses, or for loss caused by other users' content, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dukuduku after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at hello@dukuduku.co.tz so we can try to resolve it. Otherwise, the courts of Tanzania have jurisdiction.
