Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your account in Dukuduku (Android package com.zaga.dukuduku), an app operated by Zaga, and what happens to your data when you do.
Option 1: in the app
- Open Dukuduku and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap Mimi at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the settings icon (⚙️) at the top right.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. You are signed out and the account is deleted immediately.
If you never signed in, there is no account to delete. To remove what you posted from that phone, delete each post in the app, or use option 2.
Option 2: by email
If you cannot open the app, or you no longer have the phone, email hello@dukuduku.co.tz with the subject Delete my Dukuduku account. Include the email address or Google account you signed in with, and say whether you also want your posts and comments removed. We may ask you to confirm the request from that same address so nobody else can delete your account. We complete requests within 30 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Your email address and the link to your Google or email sign-in.
- Your display name, profile photo, bio and phone number.
- Your push-notification token and notification settings.
- Any remaining tokens and premium status.
These are erased immediately when you delete from the app, and within 30 days of an email request.
Your posts and comments
Deleting your account does not automatically delete what you already posted. Anything that stays is no longer linked to any name, email or profile. If you want your posts and comments gone too, delete them in the app before you delete your account, or ask for it in your email request and we will remove them, including their audio files, within 30 days.
Videos or links you shared to other apps such as TikTok, WhatsApp or Instagram are outside our control. Remove them on those apps.
What we keep, and for how long

Deleting some data without deleting your account
Delete any single post or comment from inside the app. To have its stored audio file erased from our servers as well, or to request a copy of your data, email hello@dukuduku.co.tz. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
